The Lisa and Douglas Goldman Fund Announces $13.6 Million in Grants in 2023

The Lisa and Douglas Goldman Fund announces grants totaling $13.6 million paid to 216 nonprofit organizations in 2023. Grants address the strategic priorities of the Fund, including voter engagement, gun violence prevention, strengthening civic education and early literacy, climate change mitigation and resilience, engaging Jews in defending civil liberties, and protecting reproductive health and rights. In 2023, the Fund also responded to emergent needs by awarding $765,000 in special initiatives to provide emergency relief in Israel and combat antisemitism in the US and for immediate assistance in the aftermath of the Maui wildfires.

The Lisa and Douglas Goldman Fund Announces $13.4 Million in Grants in 2022

The Lisa and Douglas Goldman Fund announces grants totaling $13.4 million paid to 238 nonprofit organizations in 2022. Grants address the strategic priorities of the Fund, including voter engagement, gun violence prevention, strengthening civic education and early literacy, climate change mitigation and resilience, engaging Jews in defending civil liberties, and protecting reproductive health and rights. In 2022, the Fund also responded to emergent needs by awarding $2 million in special initiatives to provide emergency relief in response to the war in Ukraine and for immediate assistance in the aftermath of the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

The Lisa and Douglas Goldman Fund Provides an Initial $500,000 in Emergency Funding for Abortion Care

The US Supreme Court’s decision to dismantle the constitutional right to abortion prompted a prominent San Francisco-based foundation to respond with a half-million dollars in donations. The Lisa and Douglas Goldman Fund announced an emergency initiative that will provide grants to four reproductive health and rights groups — Just the PillI Need an AIf/When/How: Lawyering for Reproductive Justice; and the Abortion Movement Fund, a pooled donor fund.

The Lisa and Douglas Goldman Fund announces grants totaling $12.4 million paid to 238 nonprofit organizations in 2021. Grants address the strategic priorities of the Fund, including voter engagement, gun violence prevention, strengthening education and early literacy, reducing the effects of climate change, engaging Jews in protecting civil liberties, protecting reproductive health and rights, and responding to emergent needs.
